You may think mice are cute, but most likely, you do not want them in your home. Besides carrying disease, mice can eat your food supply, chew through wires, and leave gross droppings all over. How can you prevent them from entering, and what do you do if they already have?

It’s important to seal up any cracks and holes in your home that lead to the outside. Mice can fit through holes as small as the size of a dime.

Store your food in airtight containers. Regularly clean your home, vacuuming your floors and furniture. Keep crumbs off your countertops and do not leave dirty dishes out overnight.

Mice are attracted to moisture, so keep your home dry. Fix any leaky pipes in your home.

If you do find that a mouse has already been inside, take steps to get rid of it immediately. One mouse can soon lead to an infestation. There are a variety of mousetraps and bait that you can find online or in stores. Call pest control if you think you may have an infestation.
