Dust is everywhere. It is formed from dirt, skin cells, fabric fibers, and other things. There is no way to stop the creation of dust in a home. But you can make sure to keep it at a minimum. In addition to making your furniture look better, reducing the dust in your home can be beneficial to your health. Dust can intensify allergies in humans and pets.
The way you dust and the regularity are both important. Dust your rooms from top to bottom. Get the picture frames, light fixtures, ceiling fans, and doorframes. Then work down to your furniture, and then your baseboards. Vacuum your sofa and other upholstered furniture, and then vacuum the floors. Follow up by mopping the floors where there is no carpet.
There are a variety of cleaning tools to choose from. Microfiber dusters and mops are very efficient at grabbing dust instead of just pushing it around to another place. Keep your vacuum and its filter clean. Wash your cleaning cloths if they are not disposable. If using microfibers, be sure to dry them on low or no heat. High heat will affect the fibers.
